The test sheet of the training materials for inclusion coaching is ready. The trainers have practically finished all of their training programs At the beginning of March, there will be another series of intensive sessions with Yvonne Sliep, founder of the Inclusion Coaching methodology, and then the education and training of the first neighbourhood trainers and coaches can begin.
Bernice Calmes, Director of Article 1 Midden Nederland, is looking forward to the start of the programme: “We are happy that we can offer the Inclusion Coaching training programme in various places, before the start of summer. The municipality of Amersfoort will take the lead, followed later in the year by De Bilt, Houten and Zeist. It offers volunteers and community centres, trusted staff in these neighbourhoods and communities, and community workers, a unique set of tools aimed at working towards inclusive communities. The procedure will not be based on stuffy policy books and discussions, but through the telling of stories directly from people and taking these as a starting point. To work with what is already going on and happening in these neighbourhoods.”
i-Coaching is an approach that works with the local context, the social dynamic in the affected neighbourhood . It makes use of the possibilities and skills that are present in the people involved and offers them the tools to use them as effectively as possible. This is how we work on local solutions, for local problems.
